Merging this ticket into Ticket #40.

why is this ticket closed?

this is really really important for people who access the internet within China, someone like me.

i used vidalia once, and found the fact that when i chose some circuit excluding the nodes within China, one or two minutes later, vidalia turned back to the original circuit on its own.

since vidalia could identify the nodes' whereabout, why doesn't it allow the tor client users to ban the IP ranges by its country code in the first place?

however, we're talking about a nation that manipulated every single DNS server within its territory, a nation that kept censoring all the political messages around. they filter key words, censor http content, hijack the dns request, and sniff the instant messaging, and that's only a few examples.

You'll see in the previous message that this ticket was merged into nearly-identical Ticket #40, along with Ticket #103. I closed this one and left the second one open because, well, at the time Ticket #40 was the one that actually included complete sentences.

Also note that there is more to consider here than simply adding a feature. See Roger's post on the topic of ExcludeNodes.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
