Interface style selection in the Appearance settings page on OS X always reverts to Aqua

Description

When you try to change the Appearance setting in the Preferences dialog on OS X, it doesn’t actually change the style and reverts to Aqua.

More details needed, I guess. Changing the appearance works fine on my OS X Tiger and does not revert back to Aqua, even across Vidalia restarts.
