system tray icon

Reported by: vidalia Owned by: developer
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Vidalia Version: 0.0.13
Keywords: Cc:

Description

OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 TOR: 0.1.2.16 Vidalia: 0.0.13 Privoxy: 3.0.6

Problem: The Vidalia system tray icon does not appear, but windows task manager states that vidalia is running. Vidalia uses around 12,000K of memory.

What i notice is that it runs on my other machine that uses Windows 2K3 SP2.

Any resolution for this issue?

Regards. Sherwin

Do you have any more hints? I also have Windows XP SP2 and the tray icon for Vidalia 0.0.13 appears just fine on my system.

Another user reported a similar problem, but they had the "Hide inactive icons" checkbox checked (under the Start menu's properties) and Windows helpfully decided to hide Vidalia's icon. Do you have that checkbox checked as well?

Reporter disappeared, so I will assume unchecking "Hide inactive icon" worked for him as well. If not, please reopen with more details if you still have trouble with 0.0.14.
