'Tor is Stopped' reported by Vidalia, but Tor working fine

Reported by: vidalia Owned by: developer

Description

Have tried several different installs thinking that was the source of this problem--no change in behavior. Currently installed package 0.1.2.13 (bundle), tried Vidalia 0.0.11 vers. individually also.

Vidalia reports Tor is stopped, but tests confirm tor is working just fine. Cannot get any right-click interface from vidalia's task bar icon, it just shows the dead onion with an x on it.

First-time user, so don't know any other things to try.

Given the lack of information, I would guess you are on Windows?

Does Ticket #244 look relevant to your problem? Does Vidalia 0.0.7 work for you?

I also have this problem. Notice when reading ticket #217 that this is very similar in some instances. Because Vidalia locks a report logging is not possible but would a "Hijack this" report help?

Sorry for lack of info....yes, Windows XP Pro. Ticket #244 IS my problem ;)

Will try Vidalia 0.0.7 now and update soon.

Vidalia 0.0.7 solved the problem. Interface works fine now. Uninstalled 0.0.11 and then installed 0.0.7, ran it, tested OK...not even a reboot needed.

Ok, I think this is the same bug as #217.

And, no, a Hijack This report probably won't help.
