I cannot start Vidalia, it shows that another Vidalia process is running

I cannot start Vidalia, it shows that another Vidalia process is already running and that the Vidalia process will now exit. The task manager doesn't show any other Vidalia process. Reinstallation did not help. Even the version change to 0.0.7 was not helpful. Until yesterday it worked fine.

I have Windows XP running

You can delete the file %APPDATA%\Vidalia\vidalia.pid and Vidalia should start. You mentioned that "until yesterday it worked fine." When you last exited Vidalia, did it crash or did you exit normally?
